We are coming to the end of term with only a few weeks left until we break up for the end of term break. But there are plenty of activities and fun for the children to participate in, especially with Christmas around the corner!
We would like to reassure parents/carers that if your child has not done a ‘craft’ activity (painting or sticking), it does not mean that they have not been busy; they have been busy learning through their play by doing other activities.
As the weather is getting colder, please remember your child’s coat, please ensure coats are labelled with their name, thank you. Remember we go outside EVERY DAY! This is part of the EYFS currciculm and so it’s important children are dressed appropriately and be ready for all adventures. We are having a lot of bags left within our lobby and this can be very confusing, unless your child requires a nappy/pull up, then please refrain from bringing bags. Any bags should be clearly labelled. Please encourage your child to leave toys AT HOME, as they often get misplaced with ours and then become upset, thank you.
If your child is due to start school in September 2018, it’s time to start completing their online application. For more details on this, please see the poster within the lobby area.
Wanted
If you have any buttons, food colouring or children’s umbrellas (that are in good working order), they would be gratefully received, thank you. We are also running short of the nursery’s clothes, especially girl’s underwear, so if your child has needed to borrow any clothing items, please return them as soon as possible.
Christmas Concert
The last day for ‘normal’ nursery sessions will be Wednesday, 13 December 2017. On Thursday, 14 December 2017, we will be holding our annual Christmas Concert, both in the morning and the afternoon. Details on which concert your child will be attending will be placed onto the nursery door. If your child is attending the morning concert, please ensure that you bring them to nursery at 9.50am; if your child is attending the afternoon concert, please bring them to nursery at 12.50pm, thank you. Due to fire regulations, prams/buggies will NOT be permitted into the nursery building. During the concert, digital recordings are also NOT permitted, however, the nursery will be making a recording for DVDs to be sold at a later date. Tickets for the Christmas Concert are available from the Nursery Supervisor; please note that tickets are free!
Cake Sale
The Christmas cake sale will be held on Monday, 11 December 2017. We will also be having raffle tickets that will be on sale soon. Please support the nursery and buy a ticket! The raffle will be drawn during the Christmas party on Friday, 15 December 2017. Donations for the cake sale and for any raffle prizes will be much appreciated, thank you.
Christmas Party
The Christmas party will be held on Friday, 15 December 2017, both in the morning and the afternoon. Please see the nursery door for information on which party your child will be attending. The time for the morning party will be 10.00am until 11.30am and the time for the afternoon party will be 1.00pm until 2.30pm. We will be asking or food donations for the Christmas party. A notice will be put up shortly. There is a small fee for the party of £6.00 per child (for a present from Father Christmas). Please pay this to the Nursery Supervisor as soon as possible, thank you.
We will be returning to the nursery on Thursday, 4 January 2018.
Could all nursery fees and party fees be paid for by Wednesday, 13 December 2017, as it will not be possible to take money on concert or party days.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish you a very
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
